Aftercare

A wound heals in four phases: the hemostasis (bleeding phase), reaction phase, regeneration phase and maturation phase. A piercing wound has to go through these four phases with a piece of jewelry that keeps the wound open all the time. Because of this, piercing healing takes a lot longer and needs proper aftercare

Your body has to work hard to create new blood vessels, basal cells, cover tissue, collagen and eventually granulation tissue to close the wound. All of this must happen around the jewelry, the new tissue is created around your jewelry like a tunnel and therefore takes longer than a normal wound, usually several months or longer.

For proper wound healing, good physical condition, proper nutrition with adequate nutrients and adequate exercise for optimal circulation and oxygenation are very important.

Are you having problems with your piercing or is healing not going well? Make a check-up appointment so we can help you.

Got a nipple piercing here about two months ago, Jess is an amazing piercer, explained everything to me thoroughly and made sure that I was fully satisfied and comfortable the whole time, and the piercing itself has been doing great from the beginning
